  11. We have recently been advised to recommend using the what3words app for location on the area as the site is difficult to describe and not always easy to navigate. The Army and emergency services are familiar with this, and can assist in clearing airspace for helicopter access, or other transport if required.
  12. Any accident/emergency should be reported to the BMFA FFTC liaison person on 01926 421028.
  13. Remember that we have Controlled and Authorised access not free access.
  14. A list of current Red Card Holders can be obtained from peterwatson47@hotmail.com  who can also arrange the necessary brief required to obtain one.

Code of Conduct

  1. When sport flying or trimming, models should normally be flown from the area within the red lines indicated on the attached map.
  2. Contest type models must be fitted with a DT. RDT if possible.
  3. Sports flyers and Contest flyers should liaise with each other to establish launch points and avoid conflicts.
  4. Flights should be kept within the site boundaries if possible.
  5. Organised contests will take place on several weekends during the year and may operate from a position other than the red line area marked on the map. Sports flyers/trimmers must liaise with the C.D. to avoid conflicts.
  6. All flyers must be aware of the possibility of full size air activity and must cease flying until the full size flying has finished. It is recommended that users monitor the air band VHF frequency (122.75 MHZ) for unexpected full size activity.
  7. Parking – The Salisbury Plain Military Bye-laws displayed at the site entrance apply to the general public. As licence holders we are exempt from these requirements and can drive/park anywhere on the site if it is done safely. We have though been asked not to create any new tracks and respect the rights of farmers that have grazing tenancies.

Be Careful and stay safe.
